Solar water heating Air source heatingI am an avid Vintage bike enthusiast and the building you can see my solar panels on is my bike shed! The panels are on the back south facing roof and as you can see the stone mason is still finishing the front. At the front of this site I am currently building my new house but the bike home came first.
Ray was a bit bemused when she first came out to advise on this job. I have 2 sets of solar panels installed - 4 panels to two 300 litre cylinders. One 300 litre cylinder will provide the hot water for my home when it is ready. The second cylinder is for my bike home. It is very important for my bikes to be kept at a constant temperature and they will be housed on the 2nd floor - I have put under floor heating in here as you can see by the pics of the tiled floor. The second 300 litre cylinder from the solar panels is connected to the under floor heating for my bikes and is backed up by an air to water heat pump. It was important to me when designing my project that I could be as environmentally friendly and free of expensive fuels as much as possible. Ray is currently getting the design done for the heat pump with bore hole.
In essence by the time I’m finished I will be using renewable products in their entirety for both dwellings. Solar to heat bike shed backed up with air to water 5kw and solar and GSHP for my own abode.
Five years ago I wouldn’t have the marvellous products which I can use today. Well done Worcester Bosch.
