How is the efficiency of an air source heat pump measured?
The performance of an air source heat pump is usually shown as the COP, or Coefficient of Performance. This relates to the amount of energy extracted from the air for each unit of energy used to run the pump. An air source heat pump can provide up to 4kW of energy for every kW used.
This is subject to suitable low flow temperatures and house insulation levels.
