Environmental report
Global responsibility for the protection of the environment
Environmental protection has been a fixed part of the Bosch Group’s Company policy since 1973. It takes on the same high significance as the quality of our products and the profitability of our corporate actions. Our innovations serve above all the safety of our people, the economical interaction with resources and the cleanliness of the environment. The Bosch guidelines and Company standards towards protecting the environment are valid for all of our locations world-wide.
The third Bosch Environmental Report documents the company’s global responsibility in environmental protection.
Apart from the opportunities of globalisation, Bosch also perceives risks, such as the increasing pressure of competition, repercussions on employment in Europe, or pollution. The latest Environmental Report takes a critical look at how well Bosch is coping with these global challenges. Progress is guided by the Bosch values, which include future and result focus, responsibility, and fairness. On the basis of environmental data, which the current report publishes for all sites worldwide for the first time, the results of production-related environmental protection can be analysed and assessed.
Environmental protection and products is one of the key issues addressed by the Environmental Report. Bosch cites the examples of energy-saving condensing-boiler technology and efficient diesel fuel injection systems to show how its products are helping to reduce energy consumption, and thus CO2 emissions, in the home and in cars. Five international statements discuss what the future challenges for the various divisions and regions will be. Together with the Environmental Report, Bosch is extending it web-based offering of information at the www.bosch-environment.com site.
