Standard solar panel system controls

The Greenskies solar panel package includes a simple controller - the TDS10.

This allows the user to select the temperature required at the hot water cylinder. The controller then automatically decides when to run the pump to bring the energy from the solar panels to the cylinder.

Intelligent solar panel controls

Alternatively, a recently launched ‘intelligent solar module’ - the ISM1 - is also available.

The ISM1 enables the hot water system to take heat from the solar panels but brings the boiler back on when there’s not enough solar energy available. This way, the user gets maximum benefit from solar heating while ensuring that hot water is always available.

The ISM1 must be used in conjunction with the FW100 or FR110 controls.
