First Golden ticket found
A local family from Farringdon, Devon are the first winners in our national golden ticket competition, which kicked off our 50th anniversary celebrations.
The national competition offers five lucky winners the chance to win £1,000 off the cost of their boiler plus a five year manufacturer’s guarantee and free servicing for the lifetime of the boiler.
This initiative is the start of an exciting year of activity for us. Various employee and customer celebrations have been planned to highlight our 50 year heritage.
Five of our Greenstar boilers were picked at random by Managing Director Carl Arntzen on 1st February 2012 and had a special golden ticket inserted inside the gold casing before being distributed to stockists across the UK.
Within just a few weeks of the launch of this campaign, a gold floor-standing Greenstar Heatslave boiler was found and installed in Mr and Mrs Paver’s home, on Withen Lane in Farringdon.
The golden boiler, found by installer Ben Eyres, of Ben Eyres Gas Ltd based in Devon, was discovered when he came to fit the new Greenstar Heatslave boiler for his customers Helen and Nigel Paver.
Celebrating our 50th year
“Our boiler had broken down at the start of the year so we needed to get a new one straightaway, we called Ben to discuss what we needed and he looked after everything from there. We were completely shocked when he then called to tell us we were golden ticket winners, you never think that you’ll be the ones to win a national competition.
“We just want to thank Worcester for a brilliant competition, rewarding their customers is a great way to celebrate their 50th year.”
Helen and Nigel as part of their prize can now claim £1,000 towards the cost of their boiler installation plus a five year manufacturer’s guarantee and free servicing for the lifetime of the boiler.
Ben Eyres commented:
“Myself and all the staff at Ben Eyres Gas Ltd were delighted to find the first golden ticket. We were even more surprised when we came across a Greenstar Heatslave boiler that was actually sprayed gold! When we read the ticket we were delighted to tell Helen and Nigel they could claim £1000 off the cost of their boiler, they were a bit shocked but completely over the moon.
“We thank Worcester, Bosch Group for a fantastic promotion and feel very lucky to be the first company to have found one of the five tickets.”
Important milestone
Carl Arntzen, managing director of Worcester, added:
“The 50th Anniversary is such an important milestone for us at Worcester and we want to involve everyone around the UK in the celebrations this year.
“The national golden ticket competition is exciting for us as we really have no idea where the five special boilers will be delivered to or how long it will be until we have each winner identified.
“It is brilliant that within the first couple of months of the competition a golden ticket has been distributed, found and installed - we are delighted for Mr and Mrs Paver.”
