What is the Code for Sustainable Homes?

The Code for Sustainable Homes is a single national standard, offering a guide to key elements of the design and construction of sustainable homes.

More than a quarter of the UK’s carbon dioxide emissions come from the energy used to heat, light and run a home. The Government’s ambition is that the Code for Sustainable Homes should drive a change in homebuilding practice, ensuring that future housing stock meets Britain’s needs and protects the environment.
