Worcester working with the Government

Mike O'Brien and Carl Arntzen at Worcester

Worcester plays a key role in advising the UK Government on environmental issues.

75% of energy used in the home is for heating and hot water and the Government has the following European Union targets to meet by 2020:

  • 20% reduction in carbon emissions
  • 20% improvement in energy efficiency
  • 15% of energy is to come from renewable sources

As an industry leader, we support and lobby the Government to help them meet these targets.

In May 2009 Neil Schofield, Worcester’s Head of Sustainable Development, won the award for ‘Outstanding Personal Contribution’ at the Micropower Awards. These awards recognise the achievement and success across the microgeneration sector.
