Project Description
Warm Wales is a community interest company established to help fight fuel poverty. Working with Neath Port Talbot Borough Council, £11million was secured to undertake an energy assessment of all the homes in the borough, provide a detailed survey of qualifying homes and install a range of measures to improve heating provision, including cavity wall insulation and Greenstar 30CDi boilers.
Warm Wale identified the Alms houses, homes built in 1897 to provide accommodation to vulnerable ladies of the church fraternity, as needing urgent attention. The property, which houses 10 flats, was in desperate need of a new heating system to keep the tenants warm and provide hot water so two Greenstar 30CDi boilers were installed as part of the project.
