Read on to find out what Jay had to say:
How long have you been working in the heating industry?
I decided to pursue a career as a Joiner originally, over 30 years ago, and after working on site with many trades, I soon realised being a gas engineer and plumber offered a more rewarding path which aligned well with my interests and strengths.
What kind of products do you install?
I install a wide range of products across both domestic and light commercial settings, with expertise in all aspects of central heating, air conditioning, smart controls, and plumbing systems. We are currently working within the company on training the workforce to be able to offer heat pumps soon.
Do you have a favourite Worcester Bosch product?
Yes, one of my preferred products from Worcester Bosch is the Greenstar 4000 Combi. It stands out for its excellent balance of performance, efficiency, and user-friendly features.
Looking after your mental and physical health is important, what do you do to keep yourself feeling good?
Outside of work, I actively engage in various sports, including clay pigeon shooting, go-karting, motorbiking, and kickboxing. I also enjoy traveling with a particular fondness for camping trips, which I find especially enjoyable when shared with my family.
What’s your favourite thing about working alongside your family?
The most rewarding aspect of working alongside my wife Hayley, our son Brandon, and my father-in-law Steve in our family-run business, is the profound sense of trust and shared purpose. You're not just working for a job; you're working to build something that will be a legacy for future generations.
What do you think is the biggest heating debate in your household?
As for the biggest heating debate in my household? It’s definitely the thermostat wars—my other half constantly wants the heating on full blast while I’m all about energy efficiency and keeping the bills down.
