At the Worcester PowerUp Roadshow, we spoke to Jon Harcourt, an ex-Worcester Bosch tech support engineer now working as a trusted installer. With almost 16 years under his belt working in the heating industry, Jon gave us his installer life hack and shared his experience of working in this industry.

How long have you been working in the heating industry?
15 - 16 years.
Why did you become a gas engineer?
So, I started at Worcester Bosch as a tech support engineer, moved around the industry a bit, and then went out on the tools.
What kind of products do you install?
Gas and oil boilers.
What is your favourite Worcester Bosch product?
At the minute, I'm going to go with the Greenstar 1000. It's a great little bit of kit and it's great on price. I haven't had any issues with them.
What is your favourite thing about working in this industry?
Probably fellow colleagues. Not necessarily people that work with me or for me but just all the other engineers. You meet all the other guys every day in a merchant, and you build relationships with other people. There's always somebody else on hand to help you out if you get stuck.
What is an installer life hack you swear by?
Keep smiling.
