Friction stir welding - a first for the UK heating industry
Our Greenstar CDi Compact features a revolutionary new WB7 heat exchanger which has been manufactured using the latest cutting edge technology.
The ultra-compact heat exchanger offers greater quality, reliability and performance levels and is constructed using a friction stir welding process.
This is a first for the UK heating industry having been adopted from aerospace industry and the military.
Friction stir welding is a solid-state fusing process where metal is not melted, but softened, improving the overall strength of the weld.
Martyn Bridges, Director of Marketing and Technical Support at Worcester, comments: "The CDi Compact is a great addition to our already established and successful Greenstar range.
"Having carried out extensive field trials of the CDi Compact and obtained feedback from installers before its release, we are confident that our latest boiler will prove a huge hit with the industry's professionals and their customers alike."
