What grants are available?
Our air to water and ground source heat pumps are eligible for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme.
Homeowners in England and Wales can receive:
- £7,500 off the cost and installation of an air source heat pump
- £5,000 off the cost and installation of a biomass boiler
- £7,500 off the cost and installation of a ground source heat pump

Did you know? There is now no VAT on heat pumps – reducing the cost even further.
Key Dates for Installers
1st April 2022 – Commissioning date: Systems that are commissioned on or after this date will be eligible provided all criteria is met. The eligibility of the installation won’t be confirmed until after 23rd May when your application has been submitted.
11th April 2022– Installers can create an account with Ofgem: Your business will be verified by the scheme administrator, Ofgem. Once an account is set up, you will not need to go through this process again.
This will make applying for vouchers a smoother process.
23rd May 2022 – Voucher applications open: You will be able to apply for vouchers for grants from this date on behalf of property owners.
You will also be able to redeem vouchers and receive payment once evidence of commissioning has been provided. These will be the main steps:
- Voucher application – Download, complete and submit a voucher application form to Ofgem via email.
- Property Owner Consent - Once the application is received, an email to the property owner will be triggered asking them to provide consent, which will be completed on GOV.UK website. You will be notified by email of the outcome.
- Voucher Redemption - Email Ofgem with the evidence required for a voucher redemption, including the MCS certificate number.

We can still support in unlocking government grants and extended guarantees.
If MCS isn’t right for your business right now, you can use our third party MCS umbrella scheme – they’ll handle the design, training and MCS accreditation paperwork to enable your customer to apply for government grants.
