How to prep your customers for the boiler switch-on this winter
The days are getting colder by the minute which can only mean one thing — boiler switch-on season is upon us! Customers will start to turn on their boilers but as they do, they might discover issues and even breakdowns otherwise unnoticeable during the dormant summer months. Here’s how you can help prep your customers for the boiler switch-on to save time on avoidable callouts.
1. Turn the boiler on
If customers haven’t already switched their heating on, now is the time to test everything is working to anticipate possible faults before the winter temperatures kick in. Once they turn on their boiler, they can quickly realise how well (or not) it's working before demand increases.
2. Check boiler pressure
Reminding customers to check their boiler pressure can help them to take actionable steps like repressurising it themselves and bleed their radiators if needed.
3. Insulate external condensate pipe
Some customers may not be aware that they can easily insulate their external condensate pipe to prevent it from freezing. All they need is to install a weatherproof and UV-resistant pipe insulation like foam, rubber, or fiberglass, and secure it with tape or cable ties
4. Diagnose issues with our Troubleshooting tool
If all else fails, customers can diagnose issues using our Troubleshooting tool. As well as reducing the number of quick-fix callouts in your schedule, the tool also helps you prepare for larger and more complex jobs.
