Our Findings

A nation of secret tinkerers

Throughout the UK it appears being in control of your home’s warmth can be a battleground, with two thirds of men suspecting their partner is a secret thermostat tweaker, compared to just 47% of women believing their partner sneakily adjusts the thermostat.

UK homeowners like it hot

On the whole we found UK households like it hot, with women preferring an average room temperature of 23°C and men perhaps surprisingly rating the perfect room temperature at an even higher 24°C.

A heated topic

Our research suggests that over 70% of respondents disagree with their partner about room temperature, with 16% of homeowners selecting disagreements over the home’s heating as the most frequent cause of arguments in their household.
