Worcester working with the UK Government

Mike O'Brien and Carl Arntzen at WorcesterWorcester plays a key role in advising the UK Government on environmental issues related to the heating industry.

75% of energy used in the home is for heating and hot water and the Government has the following European Union targets to meet by 2020:

  • 20% reduction in carbon emissions
  • 20% improvement in energy efficiency
  • 15% of energy is to come from renewable sources

As an industry leader, we support and lobby the Government to help them meet these targets.

In May 2009 Neil Schofield, Worcester’s Head of Sustainable Development, won the award for ‘Outstanding Personal Contribution’ at the Micropower Awards. These awards recognise the achievement and success across the microgeneration sector.

Worcester, Bosch Group Charity Forum

Worcester’s own charity forum meets regularly to discuss fund raising requests. Each year the entire company votes on which charity to focus on. In 2013 our main charities are Acorns Children’s Hospice and Rainbows Hospice for Children & Young People. We also support fundraising for national charities including Children in Need, Race for Life and Comic Relief.

ISO 50001 Certification
