How to enjoy a warm day at home

With our homes being our office, school, art studio, playground - and everything else at the moment, it’s harder to create that relaxing, sanctuary-like environment that we usually love about our home. Here are our top tips for how to have a relaxing day at home, with your trusty boiler helping you:

Step 1: Relax with a soothing bath or shower

A lovely, warm bath can help you calm down and have a break from everything that’s going on. When you do, a useful tip is that the bath will fill quicker if you run only hot water into the bath and then add cold water after. But always take care around small children. If you are trying to watch the energy bills, showers are more efficient so maybe keep baths to a weekly treat and for the rest of the week hop in and out of the shower!

Step 2: Check your heating is set to the perfect temperature to stay warm and comfortable all day

According to our recent survey, it’s clear us Brits like to keep our homes warm, with 85% of those surveyed preferring to keep their house heated at 18°C or over. We recommend a setting of 21°C for comfort when at home, but this should be programmed to a lower setting of say 17°C when not at home to save energy and costs.

Better yet, let our Bosch EasyControl do the work for you! The Bosch EasyControl allows you to keep your home at the optimal temperature from wherever you are, whether that be the sofa, your bed, or your warm, relaxing bath! You can change the room temperature without having to move a muscle.

Step 3: Snuggle up on the sofa!

Relax with loved ones or take time out for yourself by snuggling up on the sofa with a good book or boxset – and snacks!

Step 4: Now enjoy some good quality sleep

Our recent research with the Sleepyhead Partnership had some interesting findings. We found that to create that perfect sleep-worthy environment, bedroom temperature should be kept at a consistent 17 degrees Celsius during the night, or at a minimum a few degrees colder than in the daytime.

Now give your hard-working boiler some TLC!

Look after your boiler

Your boiler may be working harder than normal if you’re home all day and now is a great time to make sure that the system pressure is correct to make sure it’s running as efficiently as possible
