Warm Wales is identified the Alms Houses, homes built in 1897 to provide accommodation to vulnerable ladies of the church fraternity, as needing urgent attention. The property, which houses 10 flats was in desperate need of a new heating system
As part of the project 71 new built properties are being built to incorporate a Greenstar CDi boiler and Greenskies solar panels to provide an environmentally friendly heating and hot water solution for every tenant.
As part of Bournville Village Trust’s ‘Green Team‘ initiative a sub-group of three volunteers was set up to explore and develop an Eco-friendly demonstration project. 264 Selly Oak Road, had a complete makeover turning it from a dilapidated old council property into a super efficient eco-home.
Last year, Andy was announced as a runner up for a project that saw him installing solar panels in an 18th century farmhouse as part of a new heating and hot water system. This year, he was hoping to scoop the top spot.
