Guage At One Bar

Greenstar i Troubleshooting

If you have a combi or system boiler, which are both sealed systems, there is likely to be a water pressure gauge on the front.

This should be at a setting of around 1 bar whilst the heating is off. When the boiler is operating, the gauge will usually rise to 1.5 bar or more. If the gauge has dropped below 1 bar, the water pressure will need to be topped up.

To top up your system, please identify if you have a Worcester internal filling key or keyless filling link fitted underneath your boiler and click on the image to watch our helpful video:

The heating system is constantly losing pressure, what should I do?

If you are constantly losing pressure in the heating system you could try the following to establish the cause:

  • Check all visible joints including radiator valves and connections for obvious signs of leakage. Ensure that there are no leaks to any underfloor pipework.
  • Check that there is no water being discharged from the pressure relief valve (sometimes referred to as an overflow). This pipe usually goes from the boiler through to an outside wall and terminates outside. Check this for signs of dripping. If it is wet, this may mean that the pressure relief valve is faulty.

In either case, if your heating system keeps losing pressure you should do one of the following to get advice or help:

Finger Pressing Info Button

How do I find out if there is a problem with my boiler?

Simply press the ‘quick info’ button which provides Clear text descriptions on your boiler’s current status.

There are no lights permanently lit on the display of my boiler?

Firstly, check there is a power supply to the boiler. Take care when doing this or ask a competent person or an installer to help.

If there is a power supply to the boiler then an engineer is needed. Please call our service department on 0330 123 9339 or request a service appointment online by clicking here.
